Gas safe register
If you have ever wanted proof that the person servicing your boiler is a legitimate gas engineer, then you will be pleased to know that there is already a system in place. You can cross-check if an engineer is a bona fide heating specialist through the Gas Safe Register. Every gas engineer must be registered and is given a card as proof, a gas safe engineer is the best type of engineer.
Originally, the gas registration body in the United Kingdom was known as CORGI and every engineer had to be CORGI registered. However, in 2009 this changed to the gas safe register. Furthermore, Northern Island and Guernsey also changed to this gas registration body the following year. By law, all gas engineers must be on the Gas Safe Register. The engineer’s details can be checked online or on the phone at any time by the customer.
All Able Group engineers that undertake any heating work will be qualified as a Gas Safe registered engineer. And we are happy for our customers to verify any of our engineers. The exception will be if works are being carried out on an oil boiler. Here the engineer will not have to be Gas Safe Registered. Instead OFTEC and the OFTEC register is the official governing body for engineers working on oil heaters.
